Regina Summer String Programs
June 29 – July 4, 2026
Full Program
Regina Summer Strings runs from 8:45am to 4:30pm each day involving a carefully balanced schedule of orchestra, chamber music, and choir. Complementary sessions are offered that may include contemporary instrumental techniques, active listening, wellness, and more. Participants bring their own lunch and all activities are supervised. At the end of the week our closing concert presents all participants with the opportunity to celebrate their achievements of the week through performance.
Popiscles
RSS Popsicles is an engaging and welcoming half-day program (9am-12noon) during Regina Summer Strings designed especially for beginner string players up to age 10, with no prior musical experience required. Through fun, play-based learning, students are introduced to the basics of violin playing in a supportive group setting that emphasizes creativity, confidence, and joy in music-making. With experienced instructors Andrea Hedlund and Katherine Achtzehner guiding each step, children explore rhythm, movement, and simple techniques while building foundational skills and a love for string playing. Perfect for beginners, Popsicles offers a positive first step into the world of music and gets young learners ready to join the full-day Regina Summer Strings program in subsequent years. Students must provide their own instruments.
Adult
If you are someone who has always loved to play a string instrument alongside your non-musical career, our RSS Adult program is just the session for you! This group meets in the late afternoons each day of the program and has a great time learning together in the ensemble setting.
