Hailing from Taiwan, violinist Heng-Han Hou's musicality and sensitivity have firmly established him in the music scene in Canada.

 

Heng-Han performs regularly as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician and will be joining the Regina Symphony Orchestra and Regina Symphony Chamber Players as Principal Second Violin, in the fall of 2020. Currently acting as Associate and Assistant Concertmaster for the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, he also appears with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Canadian Opera Company and Windsor Symphony Orchestra.

 

Besides performing, Heng-Han is also an active pedagogue. He is a member of the Ontario Registered Music Teacher Association, an ensemble coach and piano accompanist at North York Suzuki Institute, and holds teaching assistant positions at the University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Contemporary Music Ensemble, Chamber Ensemble, and for Prof. Jonathan Crow.

 

Heng-Han is a doctoral candidate at the University of Toronto under the tutelage of Jonathan Crow and has performed in public masterclasses for Midori Goto, Noah Bendix-Balgley, the New Orford String Quartet, the Ebene String Quartet, and the American String Quartet among others.
